UKATA is pleased to announce a formal partnership with the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) with the aim to promote awareness of both organisations and the services they provide.
The BSIF is the UK trade association for the safety industry, a major independent voice for UK safety. Providing authoritative information on a range of workplace safety issues and representing the needs of the UK market, their members and the country’s workforce.
It is their mission to support all businesses in the UK who help to keep people safe and healthy at work. They are passionate that safety and health is universally recognised for what it is – a positive force for good.
BSIF work closely with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Trading Standards with whom they have Primary Authority partnership. The BSIF are a principal association for the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulation. They ensure the needs of the UK safety industry are shared. Their active input across government departments puts them at the forefront of influencing legislation.
Their work with government enforcement agencies, standards making authorities, safety equipment manufacturers, distributors, users, and sector associations makes certain they are leading the way in educating and advising on topical industry issues that affect worker safety and health.
To help give assurances to those that need to procure/use compliant PPE & safety equipment, BSIF audit members under the ‘Registered Safety Supplier Scheme’. Through this scheme a strict set of protocols are set for members so they can prove alignment with their regulatory/legislative requirements. The scheme seeks to improve the quality of product and the capability of suppliers in the safety/PPE market.
Speaking on the partnership, UKATA Chief Operating Officer, Craig Evans said:
“We are delighted to welcome the BSIF as a corporate partner in acknowledgement of their commitment and support for continued improvements and developments within the health and safety industry.
The newly formed partnership will benefit the wider industry by both organisations sharing knowledge, raising awareness collaboratively and promoting the services they offer, particularly regarding new innovations and developments in the PPE industry”
