UKATA is proud to support Mesothelioma UK’s #MuffinsForMeso campaign, which is happening in May! This fun and inclusive campaign invites people of all ages and all baking abilities to get involved, whether a professional baker or someone who’s just starting out. The goal is simple – bake it, decorate it, photograph it, share it, sell it, and enjoy it!
Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that develops in the lining that covers the outer surface of some of the body's organs. It's usually linked to asbestos exposure.
Mesothelioma UK is a national asbestos-related cancer charity. They exist to support people with mesothelioma to live better and live longer and to prevent mesothelioma happening to future generations.
How to Get Involved
The process is very simple with possibilities to host a bake sale at home, at work, or within the local community, to help raise vital funds for Mesothelioma UK. You can encourage family, friends, and colleagues to sponsor you or even join you in hosting their own bake sales! Mesothelioma UK is celebrating all the creative and tasty bakes with special categories, including Best Dressed, Most Unusual, and Best Recipe. The winners of each category will be awarded a prestigious Mesothelioma UK certificate, signed by the CEO, Liz Darlison.
To enter, simply send in a photo of your bakes or tag Mesothelioma UK on social media with #MuffinsForMeso. This is a great chance to show off your baking skills, win some fun prizes, and make a difference!
Mesothelioma UK has made it very easy to host your own bake sale. On signing up, a fundraising pack will be sent full of muffin cases, balloons, napkins, and more. Plus, there are downloadable resources like a ‘Muffins this way’ sign and a customisable ‘I’m hosting this event for…’ sign to personalise the event and make it extra special.
Not only will you have everything you need to host a great event, but you’ll also be contributing to an incredibly worthy cause. Every penny raised will go directly to Mesothelioma UK, helping them to continue their vital work supporting those affected by mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive cancer often caused by exposure to asbestos. UKATA will host their own fundraising event at their head office on Wednesday 14th May.
