Taking place annually, Action Mesothelioma Day sees hundreds of people come together throughout the UK to raise awareness of mesothelioma, and pay tribute to people suffering with asbestos related cancer and those affected by mesothelioma.
There are a number of events taking place throughout the UK by numerous different charities and supporters, we are aware of the following:
Derbyshire Asbestos Support Group (DAST), Friday 5th July 2019, 10:00am
DAST are holding en event at The Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale, Matlock. The event is due to start at 10am, with refreshments and a campaign update from Chair Dave Trigg. Followed by an optional 1 mile walk to launch "Walk a Mile for Mesothelioma 2019" lunch and entertainment.

Mesothelioma UK, Friday 5th July 2019, 2:00pm
Mesothelioma UK will host a service at Leicester cathedral followed by a dove release, tea and cake. The event is due to start from 2:00pm.

Greater Manchester Asbestos Victms Support Group (GMAVSG), Friday 5th July 2019, 12:30pm
In memory of those who have died from Mesothelioma a dove release will take place on Barbirolli Square (next to the Bridgewater Hall) in central Manchester, starting at 12.30 pm.
Followed by a public meeting at 1pm, which takes place in the nearby Friends Meeting House on Mount Street, close to Manchester Town Hall. Speaking this year will be Lorraine Creech of Mesothelioma UK.

South West Asbestos Support Awareness Group (SWASAG), Friday 5th July 2019, 11:30am - 3:00pm
SWASAG hosts a day of remembrance with guest speakers, lunch and a butterfly release. The event starts at 10:00am at St Elizabeth's House, Plymouth.

Asbestos Awareness and Support Cymru (A.A.S.C), Friday 5th July 2019
A.A.S.C will be hosting an event in Cardiff this year to mark Action Mesothelioma Day. They are extending a warm welcome to all those who are living with a diagnosis of mesothelioma and their families. They also extend a warm welcome to those who have lost loved ones as a result of exposure to asbestos.

Papworth Mesothelioma Social Group, Friday 5th July, 1:00pm- 3:00pm
The Papworth Mesothelioma Social Group are going to host a dove release along with tea and cake at the Hemingford Abbots Village Hall and all are welcome.

Mesothelioma Support Yorkshire, Friday 5th July, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Mesothelioma Support Yorkshire will host visitors with a celebratory balloon arch where guests can write the names of loved ones on the balloons. Afternoon tea will then be followed on by a butterfly release on the Leeds Town Hall steps.

The June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund will host an event which brings together patients, families, doctors and researchers to help develop deeper understanding of mesothelioma research at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Royds Withy King are hosting a ceremony at the Mesothelioma Memorial Gardens, Queens Park, Swindon. The ceremony will be followed on with drinks and cake in the Park Cafe. Their will also be speakers, a dove release and a memorial tree. Royds Withy King request that you bring photos of your loved ones that have suffered from an asbestos-related disease.

Anglia Asbestos Diseased Support Group, Sunday 7th July, 10am
Anglia Asbestos Diseased Support Group are hosting an event where their Members can attend the service of music, poetry and readings. This will then be followed on by the release of Doves. Their will then be a Roll Call to commemorate the loss of loved ones which will then be followed on by a buffet lunch and a visit to the Old Abbey and tomb of St. Edmund. The event takes place at the St. Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St. Edmunds.
