The UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) was invited to attend a careers fair at Chesterfield College on 13th July 2023.
The event was hosted by Derbyshire County Council, Joined Up Careers, Dept of Work and Pensions, Links CVS, East Midlands Chamber of Commerce on behalf of Derbyshire BME Forum. The aim of the event was to ensure that everyone has access to fulfilling their potential, receiving support and advice to do so.
Delegates were provided with opportunities to meet industry professionals listen to inspirational talks and find out first hand about current vacancies and training opportunities.
Translators were on hand to help throughout the event to ensure that EVERYONE had the opportunity to 'unlock new possibilities' and reach their full potential.
Leonie Hibberd and Olivia Anderson from UKATA’s membership department (pictured with Paul Munday, Employer Adviser at DWP Jobcentre Plus Derbyshire) were able to showcase training courses offered by UKATA members which are available nationwide.
Events & Marketing Manager, Victoria Castelluccio said of the opportunity to join the Careers Fair “We were delighted to have UKATA representatives attend the event at Chesterfield College and signpost delegates to the extensive range of training courses offered by UKATA members, to support with future employment opportunities. We work tirelessly to make training accessible, impactful, and raise awareness of the risks associated with asbestos”.
