A leading authority for asbestos training has been shortlisted for the Commitment to People Development Award in the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards 2022.
The award recognises organisations that demonstrate a firm commitment to people development, implementation, and promotion of a learning and development culture, as well as how employee wellbeing is supported.
Staff development has always been important for the UKATA senior management team, and they recognise this has been key to the continued success of the association. Time is invested in all staff members to encourage growth, career, and personal progression.
The ten-strong workforce range from apprentices to more experienced senior staff members, all treated with the same level of respect and involved in all aspects of the day-to-day business.
Managers take an active role in mentoring their team to grow and achieve the association’s objectives of ‘providing a first-rate service’ and ‘getting it right first time, every time’.
Speaking on the award success, UKATA Chief Operating Officer, Craig Evans, said:
“Being shortlisted is a testament to all the staff’s hard work and dedication to their development and learning. From achieving certification in ISO 45001:2018 earlier this year, successful retention of ISO 9001:2015 and achieving our key performance targets, show that keeping staff training up to date, and encouraging the sourcing of additional training, is key to our successes.
Investing in staff learning and development is something the senior management team are passionate about and recognises that this is the forefront reason for the association’s high standing in industry”.
The awards ceremony takes place at Reach, Pride Park in Derby on 11 November
