UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) is proud to announce that its Chief Operating Officer, Craig Evans, has been appointed as a Trustee for Mesothelioma UK. Craig joins three other newly appointed trustees, bringing his leadership and extensive experience to support the charity’s work with patients and families affected by mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma UK, a national charity dedicated to supporting mesothelioma patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, welcomes Craig’s background in asbestos training and the wider health & safety industry. With over 15 years of leadership at UKATA, Craig has been instrumental in setting high standards for asbestos safety training across the UK. His strategic expertise in management, finance, marketing, and event coordination will play a key role in helping the charity broaden its reach and enhance its visibility.
Speaking on his appointment, Craig Evans said:
"I am honoured to join Mesothelioma UK as a trustee. I have seen first-hand the incredible work they do, providing support and care for those diagnosed with mesothelioma. The impact this charity has on patients and their families, along with the research they are driving, is truly inspiring. At UKATA, we work to prevent asbestos exposure through training, but Mesothelioma UK is on the front line, supporting people who have received a terminal diagnosis. I look forward to contributing to their important mission."
Craig Evans will be joining fellow new trustees, Kate Williams, Amanda Jones, and Professor Mike Lind, alongside existing board members. Together, they will help guide the charity as it continues to support patients, raise awareness, and advocate for enhanced research and treatment options.
Mesothelioma UK Chief Executive, Liz Darlison MBE, shared her enthusiasm for the new appointments:
"We are thrilled to welcome Craig and our other new trustees. Craig’s experience and dedication to asbestos safety will be invaluable to our mission. His leadership within the asbestos training sector will help us expand our reach and improve the lives of more mesothelioma patients."
Craig’s appointment as a trustee further strengthens the partnership between UKATA and Mesothelioma UK, reinforcing both organisations’ commitment to improving asbestos safety and providing support for those affected by asbestos-related diseases.
