UKATA proudly exhibited at the Health and Safety Event 2025, held at the NEC in Birmingham from 7 – 10 April 2025. The event attracted thousands of professionals, including safety managers and industry experts, all committed to enhancing workplace safety standards.
The Health and Safety Event provided a key platform for advancing safety culture across industries, with interactive demonstrations showcasing the latest PPE technologies and safety solutions. Thought-provoking sessions addressed relevant topics such as women in industry and lone worker well-being, while more than 350 exhibitors presented over 10,000 innovative safety products and services. Attendees gained valuable insights to improve workplace safety protocols, and exhibitors reported increased brand exposure and meaningful connections with industry professionals.
Building on the size and success of last year’s event, The Health and Safety Event 2025 saw an expanded seminar and workshop program delivered across multiple platforms with a greater array of live demonstrations, interactive workshops and exclusive seminars. The event continued to offer dedicated zones such as the Driver Safety Zone, in partnership with Driving for Better Business and BSIF Registered Safety Supplier Trail; A trail highlighting suppliers committed to providing genuine, approved safety equipment. In addition, 2025 saw the new specialist HSE Zone; A dedicated area where attendees could engage directly with representatives from the HSE, and the Women in Industry Zone, which focused on promoting gender diversity and supporting women in health and safety roles.

As a leading authority on asbestos training and compliance, UKATA engaged with businesses and individuals to raise awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure and the importance of high-quality training in compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The UKATA team was available throughout the event to provide expert guidance, discuss training opportunities, and support organisations in strengthening their asbestos management strategies.
UKATA Director Chris Ivey, opened the Practical Safety Theatre on day 1 of the show with his session “It’s Only Asbestos Cement, It’s Fine and Other Nonsense” where attendees were captivated by his presentation on practical solutions to enhance workplace safety, with a particular emphasis on asbestos awareness and mental health in the construction and demolition sectors. His session provided invaluable insights, particularly for those working in construction, demolition, and hazardous material management, focusing on practical solutions for improving workplace safety.
UKATA Operations Manager, Sasha Brailsford reflected on the event’s success, stating, “The Health and Safety Event 2025 was an excellent opportunity to connect with professionals dedicated to improving workplace health and well-being. Asbestos exposure remains a significant concern, and UKATA is committed to ensuring that those responsible for managing it receive the knowledge and training necessary to meet regulatory standards. We were delighted to engage with so many industry leaders and reinforce the importance of asbestos awareness.”
The event also provided multiple opportunities to promote UKATA’s Asbestos Conference, an unmissable event for professionals dedicated to asbestos awareness, management, and compliance. Taking place on 25 June at Delta Hotels Nottingham Belfry. This year’s conference will be the associations most ambitious and influential to date, featuring top industry experts, regulatory bodies, and key decision-makers to discuss the latest developments, best practices, and future challenges in asbestos awareness, training, and compliance.
UKATA was also delighted to see strong representation from its members and associates who exhibited at the event, including Draeger, Casella, SSG, Stallard Kane, ACT, and R G Wilbury. These organisations play a crucial role in promoting health and safety within the asbestos and wider occupational safety sectors, offering innovative solutions, equipment, and expertise to support safe working practices. Their presence at the summit further reinforced the importance of collaboration in tackling asbestos-related risks and enhancing industry standards.
