Almost nine years ago, having never knowingly been exposed to asbestos, Dave Staley was diagnosed with mesothelioma - a terminal cancer with typically a prognosis of 12-18 months to live.
Fast forward to today, minus one lung, various cancer treatments, constant scans, and hospital visits, he aims to:
- Raise awareness: Asbestos is the UK's biggest work-related killer, with 1.5 million buildings in the UK still containing asbestos.
- Beat the £15,000 he raised with only one lung, a 100-mile cycling challenge in 2017, and give those funds directly to Mesothelioma UK, an incredible charity supporting him and many others.
- Celebrate and thank their amazing family, friends, fabulous mesothelioma consultants, and nurses.
Thus, Dave and his wife Ali are hosting a charity Mesothelioma Ball! Mesothelioma UK is the national charity for anyone affected by mesothelioma. They exist to support people with mesothelioma to live better and longer and prevent mesothelioma from happening to future generations.
They would appreciate it, if you, your business, and/or any contacts could kindly sponsor the ball, donate a raffle, auction prize, or donate via his Justgiving page.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are now available, for further information please contact 07766 208519 or staleydavid@hotmail.com.
