The UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) in partnership with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) invite UKATA members, likeminded organisations and all with an interest in the asbestos industry to join their upcoming webinar on 15th July 2021, which will provide an update on the Asbestos: The Analysts' Guide HSG248.
Sam Lord, HSE Principal Specialist Inspector will deliver the presentation providing an update on HSG248, with opportunities for questions at the end of the session.
The guidance has been updated to take account of findings from HSE interventions and developments in analytical procedures and methodology. It provides clarification on technical and personal safety issues, especially in relation to sampling and 4-stage clearances. New information on sampling soils for asbestos is included.
The guidance is designed to assist analysts in complying with their legal obligations. The publication should also be useful to asbestos consultants, occupational hygienists, safety professionals, asbestos removal contractors, building owners and facilities managers.
Craig Evans, Chief Operating Officer of UKATA will co-host the webinar, fulfilling the association’s commitment to collaborate with industry partners to ensure that the UK has the highest standards of asbestos safety.
Established in 2008, UKATA is a highly respected, leading authority on asbestos training. Its passion is to both maintain and improve asbestos training, ensuring the highest standards are upheld by means of continuous assessment of competency.
